About First Christian
Loving Christ, Loving people. It's what we’re about at First Christian Church. Thanks for taking a few moments to explore our website and discover the amazing work God is doing in our church. This is our invitation for you and your family to become a part of the FCCM community.
This church exists to win the lost, train the won, and send the trained. First Christian is not about organized religion, we are all about relationships. Though the size of our church is large, our ministries are intentionally designed to connect people to Christ and to one another.
Each Sunday, over 1,300 people come through our doors. Different races, different education levels, different personalities – drawn together by a love for inspiring worship, powerful preaching, meaningful fellowship, and a chance to commune with God. There are three worship services on Sunday mornings... 8:30am, 9:45am, and 11:00am . Our messages are Bible-based, relevant and practical. Worship is Christ-centered and done with excellence.
The auditorium isn’t the only place you’ll find action on Sundays- the whole building is alive! Our children’s programming runs concurrent with all three worship services. Our nurseries and preschool classes provide a warm, loving, safe environment. But it's much more than simple child care. All our children’s workers are trained, screened, and determined to help your child grow spiritually. Elementary kids love to worship, and our elementary programs let them do it their way! Energy abounds in children’s church, where worship, object lessons, scripture focus, and much more all combine to help kids discover Christ in a personal way. Complete programming for all age children is also offered on Wednesday nights. Many special events for kids happen throughout the year. And our secure “KidCheck” check-in system ensures your child’s safety.
We love teenagers at First Christian! And there are tons of them here. Our Middle School and High School ministries are led by dynamic, creative youth ministry veterans who partner with parents to help teens survive and thrive during the difficult but exciting teenage years. Teens aren’t the church of tomorrow, they are a vital part of today’s church. On Sundays, High Schoolers have their own unique worship time at 9:45 am, and meet in small groups for Bible Study on Sunday nights. Middle-schoolers meet in groups all three hours on Sunday mornings.
On Wednesdays at 7pm, the teens really rock! High schoolers have “First Move” – a high energy time of laughter, worship, and relevant teaching. Middle schoolers have “First Wave” – where crazy games, timely lessons and relevant discussion groups combine for an awesome gathering. Come early to get in on the foosball, pool and video games. Service projects, mission trips, and summer conferences complement the weekly teen ministry, all intentionally designed to develop young people into true followers of Jesus.
We believe everyone, no matter the age, has another step to take in their spiritual journey. For this reason, First Christian offers an extensive list of studies and groups for adults. On Sundays, there are Adult Bible classes during all three worship hours. These groups are as diverse in their personality as they are in size, but they all love studying and applying God’s Word. Through the week, there are groups and classes virtually every day and every evening. On Sundays the 20-Somethings and Young Married Couples gather in separate groups for fellowship, study and prayer. Senior adults meet on Wednesday mornings for study and old-fashioned worship with hymns.
On Wednesday nights at 7pm, don’t miss ReNew, a mid-week worship experience that invigorates the soul. Separate Men’s and Women’s groups meet several times each week. The relationships that are built in these adult groups ensure you get the best care First Christian can offer. God designed us to live in community, so pick a couple of good groups and jump in!
Jesus said He came to earth to serve, not to be served. First Christian Church had adopted this model, and impacts the world right outside our doors, and the world on the other side of the globe. Each year, through work teams, missions endeavors, and financial gifts, the FCC family blesses under-resourced people with clean water, food, medical care and safe shelter. We build clinics, run orphanages and drill wells, all in the name of Christ. God has blessed this church so that we can be a blessing to others in need.
